Collection consists of material concerning Orville George Herning, manager of the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining and Manufacturing Company; material was amassed by Louise Potter. Includes Potter's typescripts of Herning's diaries, which cover the years 1899-1947, introduction to the diaries, index of the names that appear in the diaries, and essay entitled The first thirty years in the life of O. G. Herning. Collection also includes a copy of the 1897 promotional leaflet for the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining and Manufacturing Company, copies of Herning's 1898 reports on miners' meetings and reports to company stockholders, and a copy of his letter of 1899 to members of the Klondike and Boston Gold Mining Company Expedition #4, as well as copies of maps, outfitting lists, and contracts.
